To adjust settings for a threaded discussion:
- Navigate to the Threaded Discussion tool in the Lessons pages of your Isidore site.
- Click on Settings.
- Adjust the available settings:
- Discussion title override - display a custom title for the discussion (instead of "Threaded Discussion")
- Give a 100% grade for a student making a post or a comment - gives students a 100% grade if they make a thread or comment
- Grading should be enabled when the Threaded Discussion learning app is installed, as it can't be enabled after the fact.' Read more on the Grade a Threaded Discussion page
- Put comment box before comments in thread display - puts an empty comment box on the top of the threads page (instead of the bottom)
- Allowed depth of nested comments - adjusts how many levels of nested replies there can be (default is 2)
- Due date - set a due date for threads and replies
- Time zone - set your timezone
- Penalty time period - penalty deduction is calculated by each time period that passes (in seconds, specified by the instructor)
- Penalty deduction - percentage of points deducted per penalty time period (specified by the instructor)
- Click on Save changes.
