This page will show you how to add your teaching assistant to your course site and how to allow grading in the Gradebook. By default, Teaching Assistants (TAs) do not have access to view or enter grades in the Gradebook.

Allowing Teaching Assistants to Grade in Gradebook

Step 1: Add your Teaching Assistant to your course site

  1. Navigate to your course site.
  2. Click on the Site Info tool in the menu bar on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. Click on Add Participants.
  4. Click on Yes when asked whether participants have an official UD email address.
  5. Enter your TA's UD username or ID number in the text box.
  6. Click on Continue.
  7. Select TA-Grading from the Role column next to the TA's name.
  8. Click on Finish.

Step 2: Give your Teaching Assistant access to grade in Gradebook

  1. Navigate to the Gradebook tool in your course site.
  2. Click on the Permissions tab.
  3. Click on the "Select a grader" drop-down and click on a TA's name.
    • We recommend allowing the grader to see the course grade and grade in all sections/groups.
    • Optional: To give other TAs access, click on Add Rule and repeat these steps.
  4. If you're finished adding rules and granting access to TAs, click on Save Changes.
  5. Once the TA is added to your site with the TA-Grading role, they'll be able to grade in the Gradebook.
