Gradebook Summary Widget

The Gradebook Summary widget provides an easy way for students to view their current calculated course grade and/or letter grade in all of their course sites. The widget may be added to the Overview tool of Home (Isidore Home). When the widget loads, grades appearing in the widget are blurred for privacy reasons. You may click on the "Show Grades" button to reveal all course grades, or "Hide Grades" to blur them again.

Some course sites may not appear in the Gradebook Summary list. If an individual has the "Student" role in a course site and the site is published, it will appear in their list. However, instructors may choose whether to use Isidore's Gradebook tool and whether to make course grade percentages and/or letter grades available.

Important Notes:

• The calculated course grades in Isidore do not represent official course grades. To view official course grades, please use the Flyer Student Services tab in Porches.
• The calculated course grade may be inaccurate if there are ungraded or missing items in the Gradebook.

Add the Gradebook Summary widget

To add the Gradebook Summary widget:

1. Navigate to your Home (Isidore Home).
2. Make sure the Overview tool is selected in the menu on the left.
3. Click on Manage Overview in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
4. Click on the + Gradebook Summary link under "Available Widgets".
5. Use the up, down, left, and right arrows to move the Gradebook Summary widget to the desired location.
6. Click on Save.

View grades using the Gradebook Summary widget

To view your current course grade:

1. Navigate to your Home (Isidore Home).
2. Make sure the Overview tool is selected in the menu on the left.
3. Locate the Gradebook Summary widget. If you're in a private location to view your grades, click on the Show Grades button.

Hide courses from the Gradebook Summary widget

Students may choose to hide courses from their Grade Summary widget. Note: If you've hidden a site in your Preferences, it will not appear in the Gradebook Summary widget or on the Options tab.

To hide course(s):

1. Navigate to your Home (Isidore Home).
2. Make sure the Overview tool is selected in the menu on the left.
3. Click on the Options tab.
4. Check the box next to courses you don't wish to see in the Gradebook Summary widget.
5. Click on Update.

To make a course visible in the Gradebook Summary widget, follow the steps above, unchecking the boxes next to courses.
